Science Creates Engineering Biology Accelerator Launch

We are delighted to give our support and experience to Science Creates in Bristol, which brings together life science entrepreneurs within a new engineering biology accelerator programme.

The programme was launched yesterday evening in partnership with UK Research and Innovation and began with the first of two intensive Bootcamps.

The Bootcamp saw 24 programme participants attend the Old Market incubator to connect with their fellow cohort members, the wider Science Creates community and learn from an expert team of industry leaders.

The cohort includes innovators from across the UK, including Manchester, Edinburgh, London, Cardiff and Cambridge. From now until November, they will continue to develop their ventures through a hybrid learning programme which will equip them with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to turn their Engineering Biology ideas into thriving businesses.

Francis Lister, the Science Creates Accelerator Programme Director commented: “It was an absolute delight to have so many driven entrepreneurs in one room for a whole week. Lucy McGowan and I were really impressed and energised by the candidates’ commitment and drive; we are so excited to see how their businesses evolve over the programme”.

Dafydd Wright, Paul Edwards and Tarquin Bennett-Coles from SCi Partners are all mentors for the programme. We hope that our ongoing support around personal development, skills and talent management will help all participants to excel personally and recruit the right talent for their businesses.
