Mark Johnson

Mark is a respected executive search professional who has specialised in building out VC funded cell and gene therapy biotechs for over ten years.

He is experienced at recruiting C-suite and executive positions as well as functional teams specialising in CMC and technical operations Recognised as an expert in cell and gene therapy, Mark has a deep network in this space and a track record of delivering outstanding talent.

Clients view Mark as a trusted ambassador for their organisation and value his collaborative approach to filling challenging appointments. His ability to understand technical challenges, as well as company culture and commercial drivers, power his ability to build teams that deliver for both patients and investors.

Beginning his career 25 years ago in biologics at MedImmune and Novartis, Mark worked in development, manufacturing and quality for vaccine products that ultimately made the transition to full global release.

Mark holds a BSc in Applied Biology from Liverpool John Moores University.

Bethany Latham

Bethany’s role is to identify the essential and desirable skills for CMC and technical operations appointments.

Working closely alongside clients, Bethany will seek to understand both the essential criteria for roles within biotech and emerging technologies and the qualities and experience that will support the team and enhance results.

Bethany works closely with clients to fully appreciate the cultural ethos of the hiring organisation and to build genuine relationships. In turn, this helps her to identify relevant candidates and successfully convey the nature of the role and organisation.

Cultural fit is critical across all levels of biotech and emerging technologies but Bethany also believes that organisational strength is founded on diversity of thought, experience and approach.

Championing the importance of diversity, Bethany strives to ensure that her interactions with both candidates and clients are considerate, inclusive and tailored to individual needs.

Dafydd Wright​

Dafydd is a highly regarded expert in life science search and interim management appointments. In the third sector, Dafydd has hired for a range of NFP, charity and government backed organisations including MRC Technologies (now LifeArc), Innovate UK, Porton Down (now Porton Biopharma), Public Health England, Agrimetrics and GPAS – a recent Oxford based NFP. For nine years, Dafydd has been a Trustee of the medical research charity RAFT, participating in and leading the renumerations and nominations committee. The importance of good and effective governance is one of the founding tenets of SCi Partners.

Paul Edwards MBE

Paul has had an illustrious career in life sciences, continuing to work on new scientific ideas whilst building highly successful companies. In 1994, as Chairman of the UK BioIndustry Association’s Manufacturing Advisory Committee, Paul championed the need to build a sustainable biomanufacturing infrastructure in the UK. In 1997, Paul’s role as industry advisor, combined with his heavyweight scientific and executive career, led to an MBE for services to biotechnology. In 1999 he was the recipient of the IChemE Donald Medal, awarded for service to the biochemical engineering sector. He is also a Non-Executive Director of the Oxford Bio Network (OBN), the UK’s leading life science membership organisation.
